- Many are the afflictions of the righteous,
but the Lord rescues them from them all. - The integrity of the upright guides them,
but the crookedness of the treacherous destroys them. - Then God said, “Let us make humankind in our image, according to our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the wild animals of the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth.”

Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord!
Hosanna in the highest heaven!” - To set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.
- Learn to do good;
seek justice,
rescue the oppressed,
defend the orphan,
plead for the widow. - How happy is the one whom God reproves;
therefore do not despise the discipline of the Almighty. - He loves righteousness and justice;
the earth is full of the steadfast love of the Lord. - The angel said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born will be holy; he will be called Son of God.”
- All deeds are right in the sight of the doer,
but the Lord weighs the heart. - The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge;
fools despise wisdom and instruction. - Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us,
and prosper for us the work of our hands—
O prosper the work of our hands! - The spirit of the Lord God is upon me,
because the Lord has anointed me;
he has sent me to bring good news to the oppressed,
to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim liberty to the captives,
and release to the prisoners. - Happy is the nation whose God is the Lord,
the people whom he has chosen as his heritage. - Then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trial, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment until the day of judgment.
- You who live in the shelter of the Most High,
who abide in the shadow of the Almighty,
will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress;
my God, in whom I trust.” - Just as you do not know how the breath comes to the bones in the mother's womb, so you do not know the work of God, who makes everything.
- I have set my bow in the clouds, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and the earth.
- Indeed, God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
- He was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights; he neither ate bread nor drank water. And he wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the ten commandments.
- Is not this the fast that I choose:
to loose the bonds of injustice,
to undo the thongs of the yoke,
to let the oppressed go free,
and to break every yoke? - But the one who endures to the end will be saved.
- For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the children of God.
- For, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
- Over his head they put the charge against him, which read, “This is Jesus, the King of the Jews.”
