| The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing. | The Lord your God is in your midst, A victorious warrior. He will rejoice over you with joy, He will be quiet in His love, He will rejoice over you with shouts of joy. |
| A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself; but the simple pass on, and are punished. | A prudent person sees evil and hides himself; But the naive proceed, and pay the penalty. |
| Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings; and the years of thy life shall be many. | Listen, my son, and accept my sayings, And the years of your life will be many. |

| And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? | Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? |
