| The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing. | The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing. |
| Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. It is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret. | And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret. |

| In you, Lord, I have taken refuge; let me never be put to shame; deliver me in your righteousness. | In thee, O Lord, do I put my trust; let me never be ashamed: deliver me in thy righteousness. |
| Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him. | O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. |

| Do not hate a fellow Israelite in your heart. Rebuke your neighbor frankly so you will not share in their guilt. Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against anyone among your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the Lord. | Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him. Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the Lord. |
| Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. | Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. |
| Give proper recognition to those widows who are really in need. | Honour widows that are widows indeed. |
| You may say to yourselves, “How can we know when a message has not been spoken by the Lord?” If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the Lord does not take place or come true, that is a message the Lord has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously, so do not be alarmed. | And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the Lord hath not spoken? When a prophet speaketh in the name of the Lord, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him. |
| You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. | Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. |
| Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. | Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another. |
| Dear children, keep yourselves from idols. | Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen. |
| I desire to do your will, my God; your law is within my heart. | I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart. |
| Moreover, when God gives someone wealth and possessions, and the ability to enjoy them, to accept their lot and be happy in their toil—this is a gift of God. | Every man also to whom God hath given riches and wealth, and hath given him power to eat thereof, and to take his portion, and to rejoice in his labour; this is the gift of God. |
| Listen, my son, accept what I say, and the years of your life will be many. | Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings; and the years of thy life shall be many. |

| So we fasted and petitioned our God about this, and he answered our prayer. | So we fasted and besought our God for this: and he was intreated of us. |
| I know that my redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand on the earth. | For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth. |
| Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken. | Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved. |
