Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? | Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death? |
All those who keep his commandments abide in him, and he abides in them. And the proof that he abides in us is the Spirit that he has given us. | The one who keeps His commandments remains in Him, and He in him. We know by this that He remains in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us. |
But whoever drinks the water that I will give him will never be thirsty. Do not repay evil with evil or abuse with abuse. On the contrary, repay with a blessing. I am the living bread that came down from heaven. When God saw by their actions that they had turned from their evil ways, he relented and did not inflict upon them the punishment that he had threatened. | When God saw their deeds, that they turned from their evil way, then God relented of the disaster which He had declared He would bring on them. So He did not do it. |
