- For the desires of the flesh are opposed to the Spirit, and those of the Spirit are opposed to the flesh. They are in conflict with one another, so that you cannot do what you want.
- Indeed, “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
- And the good news of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the entire world as a testimony offered to all the nations. And then the end will come.
- God blessed them and told them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth; subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the seas and over the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves upon the earth.”
- Moses remained with the Lord for forty days and forty nights without eating bread or drinking water. And he wrote the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments, on the tablets.
- For the Lord is our judge,
the Lord is our lawgiver.
The Lord is our king;
he is the one who will save us. - The time of fulfillment has arrived, and the kingdom of God is close at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.
- For God did not send his Son into the world
to condemn the world
but in order that the world might be saved through him. - If we live by the Spirit, let us also be guided by the Spirit.
- When the Advocate comes
whom I will send you from the Father,
the Spirit of truth who comes from the Father,
he will testify on my behalf. - I will place my rainbow in the clouds and it will be a sign of the covenant between me and the earth.
- The upright are guarded by their integrity;
the treacherous are destroyed by their own duplicity. - For so has the Lord commanded us to do, saying,
‘I have made you a light for the Gentiles
so that you may bring salvation
to the farthest corners of the earth.’ - Meanwhile, the Church throughout Judea, Galilee, and Samaria enjoyed peace, building up strength and living in the fear of the Lord. Encouraged by the Holy Spirit, the Church grew in numbers.
- This rather is the type of fast that I wish:
to loosen the fetters of injustice,
to undo the thongs of the yoke,
to set free those who are oppressed
and to break every yoke. - Indeed, creation itself eagerly awaits the revelation of the children of God.
- The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,
because he has anointed me
to bring the good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim release to prisoners
and recovery of sight to the blind,
to let the oppressed go free. - May the Lord guide your hearts to the love of God and the steadfastness of Christ.
- For no one can be regarded as justified in the sight of God by keeping the Law. The Law brings only the consciousness of sin.
- So if anyone says to you, ‘Behold, he is in the wilderness,’ do not go out there. If they say, ‘Behold, he is in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it. For just as lightning comes from the east and is visible even in the west, so will the coming of the Son of Man be.
- Put on the armor of God so that you will be able to stand firm against the deceit of the devil.
- May God continue to bless us
and be revered to the ends of the earth. - Blessed are those whose way is blameless,
who walk in accord with the law of the Lord. - But whoever endures to the end will be saved.
- Yours, O Lord, are greatness,
power, glory, strength, and majesty,
for everything in heaven and on earth is yours.
Yours, O Lord, is the kingdom;
you are exalted as head over all.
