- Let your steadfast love, O Lord, be upon us,
even as we hope in you. - He called the crowd with his disciples, and said to them, “If any want to become my followers, let them deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.”
- We must always give thanks to God for you, brothers and sisters, as is right, because your faith is growing abundantly, and the love of everyone of you for one another is increasing.
- “Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.” For it is not those who commend themselves that are approved, but those whom the Lord commends.
- He has told you, O mortal, what is good;
and what does the Lord require of you
but to do justice, and to love kindness,
and to walk humbly with your God? - Let us therefore make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one may fall through such disobedience as theirs.
- May he grant you your heart's desire,
and fulfill all your plans. - Because you are precious in my sight,
and honored, and I love you,
I give people in return for you,
nations in exchange for your life. - If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, pray, seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
- Because your steadfast love is better than life,
my lips will praise you.
So I will bless you as long as I live;
I will lift up my hands and call on your name. - Keep your lives free from the love of money, and be content with what you have; for he has said, “I will never leave you or forsake you.”
- Let me hear of your steadfast love in the morning,
for in you I put my trust.
Teach me the way I should go,
for to you I lift up my soul. - I treasure your word in my heart,
so that I may not sin against you. - O how abundant is your goodness
that you have laid up for those who fear you,
and accomplished for those who take refuge in you,
in the sight of everyone! - I hereby command you: Be strong and courageous; do not be frightened or dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
- For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, and in their eagerness to be rich some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pains.
- Remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and the Lord your God brought you out from there with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm; therefore the Lord your God commanded you to keep the sabbath day.
- I know that there is nothing better for them than to be happy and enjoy themselves as long as they live; moreover, it is God's gift that all should eat and drink and take pleasure in all their toil.
- Arise, shine; for your light has come,
and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you. - I will extol you, my God and King,
and bless your name forever and ever. - Save us, we beseech you, O Lord!
O Lord, we beseech you, give us success!
Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord.
We bless you from the house of the Lord. - Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
- Take delight in the Lord,
and he will give you the desires of your heart. - As a deer longs for flowing streams,
so my soul longs for you, O God. - He will not let your foot be moved;
he who keeps you will not slumber.
But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to make this freewill offering? For all things come from you, and of your own have we given you.One who is slow to anger is better than the mighty,
and one whose temper is controlled than one who captures a city.
