- But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to make this freewill offering? For all things come from you, and of your own have we given you.
- Let your eyes look directly forward,
and your gaze be straight before you. - And steadfast love belongs to you, O Lord.
For you repay to all
according to their work. - Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.
- For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from fornication;
that each one of you know how to control your own body in holiness and honor,
not with lustful passion, like the Gentiles who do not know God. - I will be glad and exult in you;

do not let me stray from your commandments. - I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart;
I will tell of all your wonderful deeds. - Can a woman forget her nursing child,
or show no compassion for the child of her womb?
Even these may forget,
yet I will not forget you.
See, I have inscribed you on the palms of my hands;
your walls are continually before me. - My soul yearns for you in the night,
my spirit within me earnestly seeks you.
For when your judgments are in the earth,
the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness. - For the mountains may depart
and the hills be removed,
but my steadfast love shall not depart from you,
and my covenant of peace shall not be removed,
says the Lord, who has compassion on you. - And now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; and the greatest of these is love.
- I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord;
I have no good apart from you.” - In you, O Lord, I seek refuge;
do not let me ever be put to shame;
in your righteousness deliver me. - Give to everyone who begs from you; and if anyone takes away your goods, do not ask for them again.
- Know then in your heart that as a parent disciplines a child so the Lord your God disciplines you.
- My lips will shout for joy
when I sing praises to you;
my soul also, which you have rescued. - For the love of Christ urges us on, because we are convinced that one has died for all; therefore all have died. And he died for all, so that those who live might live no longer for themselves, but for him who died and was raised for them.
- And this is eternal life, that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.
- I will praise you with an upright heart,
when I learn your righteous ordinances. - No weapon that is fashioned against you shall prosper,
and you shall confute every tongue that rises against you in judgment.
This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord
and their vindication from me, says the Lord. - Lead me in your truth, and teach me,
for you are the God of my salvation;
for you I wait all day long. - Cast your burden on the Lord,
and he will sustain you;
he will never permit
the righteous to be moved. - For you, O Lord, are good and forgiving,
abounding in steadfast love to all who call on you. - Also that the women should dress themselves modestly and decently in suitable clothing, not with their hair braided, or with gold, pearls, or expensive clothes, but with good works, as is proper for women who profess reverence for God.
