| Say not, “Why were the former days better than these?” For it is not from wisdom that you ask this. | Say not thou, What is the cause that the former days were better than these? for thou dost not enquire wisely concerning this. |
| The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these. | And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these. |

| The end of the matter; all has been heard. Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man. | Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. |
| But Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” | But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible. |

| The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. | But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. |
| And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. | And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. |
| Then I saw that all toil and all skill in work come from a man's envy of his neighbor. This also is vanity and a striving after wind. | Again, I considered all travail, and every right work, that for this a man is envied of his neighbour. This is also vanity and vexation of spirit. |
| Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. | Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. |
| Wake up from your drunken stupor, as is right, and do not go on sinning. For some have no knowledge of God. I say this to your shame. | Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame. |
| And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. | And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us. |
| He who loves money will not be satisfied with money, nor he who loves wealth with his income; this also is vanity. | He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor he that loveth abundance with increase: this is also vanity. |
| For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. | For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. |
| For I know that through your prayers and the help of the Spirit of Jesus Christ this will turn out for my deliverance. | For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ. |
| And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. | Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. |
| Let what you say be simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything more than this comes from evil. | But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil. |
| Go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice.’ For I came not to call the righteous, but sinners. | But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. |
| In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. | In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. |
| Pray then like this: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” | After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. |
| But Jesus on hearing this answered him, “Do not fear; only believe, and she will be well.” | But when Jesus heard it, he answered him, saying, Fear not: believe only, and she shall be made whole. |
