- Beloved,
let us love one another,
because love is from God.
Everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. - I give you a new commandment:
love one another.
Just as I have loved you,
so you should also love one another. - Above all, maintain the fervor of your love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins.
- Then Peter addressed them: “I now understand how true it is that God has no favorites, but that in every nation all those who fear God and do what is right are acceptable to him.”
- Everything that you do should be done in love.
- If someone says, “I love God,”
but at the same time hates his brother,
he is a liar.
For whoever does not love the brother
whom he has seen
cannot love God whom he has not seen. - If you keep my commandments,
you will remain in my love,
just as I have kept my Father’s commandments
and remain in his love. - You intended to do evil to me, but God decided to make it serve a good, to fulfill that which today has come true: to keep alive a numerous people.
- Hatred stirs up strife,
but love overlooks all offenses. - The labors of the wicked man produce little profit,
but the one who sows righteousness reaps a sure reward. - Beloved,
since God loved us so much,
we should love one another. - This is my commandment:
love one another
as I have loved you. - The second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’
- Let your love be sincere. Loathe what is evil and hold fast to what is good.
- Love is patient;
love is charitable.
Love is not envious;
it does not have an inflated opinion of itself;
it is not filled with its own importance.
Love is never rude;
it does not seek its own advantage.
It is not prone to anger;
neither does it brood over setbacks. - No one can have greater love
than to lay down his life for his friends. - Those who love your law have great peace;
they encounter no stumbling blocks. - This is the commandment
we have received from him:
whoever loves God
must also love his brother. - Dear children,
let us love not in word or speech
but in deed and truth. - However, whoever lives by the truth
comes to the light
so that it may be clearly seen
that his deeds have been done in God. - This is how everyone will know
that you are my disciples:
if you love one another. - I reprove and discipline all those whom I love. Therefore, be sincere in your desire to repent.
- May the Lord cause your love to increase and overflow for one another and for everyone else, just as our love does for you.
- Love one another with genuine affection. Esteem others more highly than yourself.
- But I say to you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.
