Bible Verses about 'Under'

  • For sin is no longer to have any power over you, since you are not under the Law but under grace.
  • What then? Should we sin because we are not under the Law but under grace? Of course not!
  • For everything there is a season,
    and a time for every activity under heaven.
  • Therefore, humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, so that at the proper time he may exalt you.
  • Then the God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
  • There is no salvation in anyone else, nor is there any other name under heaven given to men by which we can be saved.
  • With his feathers he will shelter you,
    and you will take refuge under his wings;
    his faithfulness serves as a protective shield.
  • No one after lighting a lamp covers it with a pot or places it under a bed. Rather he places it on a lampstand so that those who enter may see the light.
  • But according to Scripture all things have been confined under sin, so that through faith in Jesus Christ what was promised might be given to those who believe.
  • All those who have sinned outside the Law will perish outside the Law, and all who sinned under the Law will be judged by the Law.
  • Each person should give as much as he has decided in his heart, not with reluctance or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
  • Because of this, God greatly exalted him
    and bestowed on him the name
    that is above all other names,
    so that at the name of Jesus
    every knee should bend
    of those in heaven and on earth and under the earth.
  • This is the conclusion I have reached: it is fitting for a man to eat and drink and find satisfaction in the results of his labors under the sun during the brief span of life that God has allotted him.
  • For this reason, he is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who have been called may receive the promised eternal inheritance, since his death has served to redeem the sins that were committed under the first covenant.
  • Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all that is in them, saying:
    “To the one seated on the throne
    and to the Lamb
    be blessing and honor and glory and might
    forever and ever.”
  • Nor would someone light a lamp and then put it under a basket; rather, it is placed upon a lampstand so that it may afford light to all in the house. In the same way, your light must shine so that it can be seen by others; this will enable them to observe your good works and give praise to your Father in heaven.
  • Therefore, the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from their trials and to hold the wicked for punishment until the Day of Judgment.
  • Rather, I discipline my body and bring it under control, for fear that after preaching to others I myself may be disqualified.
  • Indeed, under the Law almost everything is purified by blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.
  • You have given me the shield of your salvation;
    your right hand sustains me,
    and your goodness makes me great.
    You broadened the path beneath me
    so that my feet have never stumbled.
  • No prophecy ever came from human initiative. Rather, when people spoke as messengers of God, they did so under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
  • “All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are beneficial. “All things are lawful for me,” but I will not allow myself to be dominated by anything.
  • You will again show us compassion
    and wash away our guilt;
    you will cast all our sins
    into the depths of the sea.
  • You are the salt of the earth. But if salt loses its taste, what can be done to make it salty once again? It is no longer good for anything, and thus it is cast out and trampled underfoot.
  • Blessed is the man who perseveres when he is tempted, for when he has been proven, he will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.

A fool gives free rein to his anger,
but a wise man bides his time and calms it.
