- Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God.”
- You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way. But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it.
- How wonderful and pleasant it is
when brothers live together in harmony! - Jesus replied, “I assure you, no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit.”
- I tell you the truth, anyone who welcomes my messenger is welcoming me, and anyone who welcomes me is welcoming the Father who sent me.
- I tell you the truth, slaves are not greater than their master. Nor is the messenger more important than the one who sends the message.
- And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul?
- But God had mercy on me so that Christ Jesus could use me as a prime example of his great patience with even the worst sinners. Then others will realize that they, too, can believe in him and receive eternal life.
- Your laws are my treasure;
they are my heart’s delight. - And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.
- But when people keep on sinning, it shows that they belong to the devil, who has been sinning since the beginning. But the Son of God came to destroy the works of the devil.
- Place me like a seal over your heart,
like a seal on your arm.
For love is as strong as death,
its jealousy as enduring as the grave.
Love flashes like fire,
the brightest kind of flame. - For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children.
- I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father.
- Love prospers when a fault is forgiven,
but dwelling on it separates close friends. - When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God.
- And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Is anything worth more than your soul?
- This is the day the Lord has made.
We will rejoice and be glad in it. - And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words.
- After saying this, he was taken up into a cloud while they were watching, and they could no longer see him.
- But God has protected me right up to this present time so I can testify to everyone, from the least to the greatest. I teach nothing except what the prophets and Moses said would happen— that the Messiah would suffer and be the first to rise from the dead, and in this way announce God’s light to Jews and Gentiles alike.
- For if we are faithful to the end, trusting God just as firmly as when we first believed, we will share in all that belongs to Christ.
- He sat down, called the twelve disciples over to him, and said, “Whoever wants to be first must take last place and be the servant of everyone else.”
- Soon I will die, going the way of everything on earth. Deep in your hearts you know that every promise of the Lord your God has come true. Not a single one has failed!
- So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days.
