- For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
- For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.
- In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.
- Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing.

- See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.
