Bible Verses about 'Wait for better days'
- Do not say,
“Why were the former days better than these?”
For you do not inquire wisely concerning this. - I wait for the Lord, my soul waits,
And in His word I do hope. - Two are better than one,
Because they have a good reward for their labor. - Wait on the Lord;
Be of good courage,
And He shall strengthen your heart;
Wait, I say, on the Lord! - It is better to trust in the Lord
Than to put confidence in man. - But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.
- Better is a little with righteousness,
Than vast revenues without justice. - But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, inasmuch as He is also Mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises.
- What is desired in a man is kindness,
And a poor man is better than a liar. - Better is a little with the fear of the Lord,
Than great treasure with trouble. - Therefore I will look to the Lord;
I will wait for the God of my salvation;
My God will hear me. - My soul, wait silently for God alone,
For my expectation is from Him. - He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty,
And he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city. - How much better to get wisdom than gold!
And to get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver. - For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand.
I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God
Than dwell in the tents of wickedness. - Therefore the Lord will wait, that He may be gracious to you;
And therefore He will be exalted, that He may have mercy on you.
For the Lord is a God of justice;
Blessed are all those who wait for Him. - For I am hard-pressed between the two, having a desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better. Nevertheless to remain in the flesh is more needful for you.
- So teach us to number our days,
That we may gain a heart of wisdom. - A little that a righteous man has
Is better than the riches of many wicked.
For the arms of the wicked shall be broken,
But the Lord upholds the righteous. - Remember now your Creator in the days of your youth,
Before the difficult days come,
And the years draw near when you say,
“I have no pleasure in them” - Then Jesus, being filled with the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, being tempted for forty days by the devil. And in those days He ate nothing, and afterward, when they had ended, He was hungry.
- Lead me in Your truth and teach me,
For You are the God of my salvation;
On You I wait all the day. - For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.
- Because Your lovingkindness is better than life,
My lips shall praise You.
Thus I will bless You while I live;
I will lift up my hands in Your name. - Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.
- Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him;
Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way,
Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass. - I know that nothing is better for them than to rejoice, and to do good in their lives, and also that every man should eat and drink and enjoy the good of all his labor—it is the gift of God.

Nor go to your brother’s house in the day of your calamity;
Better is a neighbor nearby than a brother far away. - Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord
Forever. - My son, do not forget my law,
But let your heart keep my commands;
For length of days and long life
And peace they will add to you. - A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches,
Loving favor rather than silver and gold. - See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
- Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you.
- For
“He who would love life
And see good days,
Let him refrain his tongue from evil,
And his lips from speaking deceit.
Let him turn away from evil and do good;
Let him seek peace and pursue it.” - So Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.
- So he was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights; he neither ate bread nor drank water. And He wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments.
- Go, gather all the Jews who are present in Shushan, and fast for me; neither eat nor drink for three days, night or day. My maids and I will fast likewise. And so I will go to the king, which is against the law; and if I perish, I perish!
- Six days shall work be done, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of solemn rest, a holy convocation. You shall do no work on it; it is the Sabbath of the Lord in all your dwellings.

For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.
- One thing I have desired of the Lord,
That will I seek:
That I may dwell in the house of the Lord
All the days of my life,
To behold the beauty of the Lord,
And to inquire in His temple. - Here is what I have seen: It is good and fitting for one to eat and drink, and to enjoy the good of all his labor in which he toils under the sun all the days of his life which God gives him; for it is his heritage.
- But those who wait on the Lord
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint. - If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.
- Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, saying, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him.”
- One person esteems one day above another; another esteems every day alike. Let each be fully convinced in his own mind.
- You shall therefore keep His statutes and His commandments which I command you today, that it may go well with you and with your children after you, and that you may prolong your days in the land which the Lord your God is giving you for all time.
- Be of good courage,
And He shall strengthen your heart,
All you who hope in the Lord. - Yes, in the way of Your judgments,
O Lord, we have waited for You;
The desire of our soul is for Your name
And for the remembrance of You. - You shall walk in all the ways which the Lord your God has commanded you, that you may live and that it may be well with you, and that you may prolong your days in the land which you shall possess.
- So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
