- I wait for the Lord, my soul doth wait,
and in his word do I hope. - Say not thou, What is the cause that the former days were better than these? for thou dost not enquire wisely concerning this.

neither go into thy brother's house in the day of thy calamity:
for better is a neighbour that is near than a brother far off. - For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better: Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you.

blessed are all they that wait for him. - So teach us to number our days,
that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. - A little that a righteous man hath
is better than the riches of many wicked.
For the arms of the wicked shall be broken:
but the Lord upholdeth the righteous. - Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them.

and I will dwell in the house of the Lord

on thee do I wait all the day. - Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.

Thus will I bless thee while I live:

fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way,

and they shall walk, and not faint. - And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
