But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” | But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.” |

And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. | And this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent. |
You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore. | You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore. |
Of His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures. | Of his own will he brought us forth by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures. |
And it shall be, when he is guilty in any of these matters, that he shall confess that he has sinned in that thing. | When he realizes his guilt in any of these and confesses the sin he has committed, he shall bring to the Lord as his compensation for the sin that he has committed. |
Can anyone forbid water, that these should not be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have? | Can anyone withhold water for baptizing these people, who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have? |
Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many. | Even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many. |

And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma. | And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. |
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. | For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. |
Now He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath. And behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bent over and could in no way raise herself up. But when Jesus saw her, He called her to Him and said to her, “Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity.” And He laid His hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God. But the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath; and he said to the crowd, “There are six days on which men ought to work; therefore come and be healed on them, and not on the Sabbath day.” The Lord then answered him and said, “Hypocrite! Does not each one of you on the Sabbath loose his ox or donkey from the stall, and lead it away to water it? So ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound—think of it—for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath?” And when He said these things, all His adversaries were put to shame; and all the multitude rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by Him. | Now he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath. And behold, there was a woman who had had a disabling spirit for eighteen years. She was bent over and could not fully straighten herself. When Jesus saw her, he called her over and said to her, “Woman, you are freed from your disability.” And he laid his hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and she glorified God. But the ruler of the synagogue, indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, said to the people, “There are six days in which work ought to be done. Come on those days and be healed, and not on the Sabbath day.” Then the Lord answered him, “You hypocrites! Does not each of you on the Sabbath untie his ox or his donkey from the manger and lead it away to water it? And ought not this woman, a daughter of Abraham whom Satan bound for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath day?” As he said these things, all his adversaries were put to shame, and all the people rejoiced at all the glorious things that were done by him. |
Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give. | Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, cast out demons. You received without paying; give without pay. |
And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him. | And being made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation to all who obey him. |
In like manner also, that the women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with propriety and moderation, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or costly clothing, but, which is proper for women professing godliness, with good works. | Likewise also that women should adorn themselves in respectable apparel, with modesty and self-control, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly attire, but with what is proper for women who profess godliness—with good works. |

Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.” | And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.” |

And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence. | And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent. |
Therefore, since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind, for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin. | Since therefore Christ suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves with the same way of thinking, for whoever has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin. |
For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. | For who knows a person's thoughts except the spirit of that person, which is in him? So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. |
