- God is our refuge and strength,
A very present help in trouble. - The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed,

- Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
- When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke with tongues and prophesied.
- And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.
- When pride comes, then comes shame;
But with the humble is wisdom. - And it shall be, when he is guilty in any of these matters, that he shall confess that he has sinned in that thing.
- When you make a vow to God, do not delay to pay it;
For He has no pleasure in fools.
Pay what you have vowed. - But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
- Even a fool is counted wise when he holds his peace;
When he shuts his lips, he is considered perceptive. - For a thousand years in Your sight
Are like yesterday when it is past,
And like a watch in the night. - My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.
When shall I come and appear before God? - When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you.
When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned,
Nor shall the flame scorch you. - For if they fall, one will lift up his companion.
But woe to him who is alone when he falls,
For he has no one to help him up. - And now, little children, abide in Him, that when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming.
- And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment.
- Rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer.
- These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.
- For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
- Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

And my soul, which You have redeemed. - The blessing of the Lord makes one rich,

- I will praise You with uprightness of heart,
When I learn Your righteous judgments. - When they had pasture, they were filled;
They were filled and their heart was exalted;
Therefore they forgot Me. - Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake.
- When Jesus heard that, He said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.”
- But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.

Yes, by my spirit within me I will seek You early;
For when Your judgments are in the earth,
The inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness. - O Lord, You have searched me and known me.
You know my sitting down and my rising up;
You understand my thought afar off. - But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved).
- He who walks with wise men will be wise,
But the companion of fools will be destroyed. - This poor man cried out, and the Lord heard him,
And saved him out of all his troubles. - But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, that your charitable deed may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly.
- If I say, “My foot slips,”
Your mercy, O Lord, will hold me up. - Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone.
