- God is our refuge and our strength,
a well-proved help in times of trouble. - You are a place of refuge for me;
you preserve me from trouble
and surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah - But I will sing of your strength;
when morning dawns, I will proclaim your kindness.
For you have been my fortress,
my refuge in times of trouble. - The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed,
a refuge in times of distress. - The Lord is good,
an unfailing refuge in a time of distress.
He takes care of those who place their trust in him. - It is better to have a little and fear the Lord
than to possess immense wealth and suffer anguish. - So do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will take care of itself. Each day has enough troubles of its own.
- When I am terrified,
I place my trust in you. - You shall keep these things that I command you today in your heart. Teach them to your children. You shall talk of them when you are sitting in your home, and when you are walking along the way, and when you lie down and when you rise up.
- Remember your Creator in the days of your youth
before the bad times come
and the years draw near when you will say,
“I take no pleasure in them”. - When you search for me, you will find me. When you seek me with all your heart.

When shall I come to behold the face of God? - When you pass through the waters,
I will be with you;

When you walk through fire,
you will not be burned;
the flames will not consume you. - O Lord, you have examined me
and you know me.
You know when I sit and when I stand;
you perceive my thoughts from a distance. - And now, dear children,
abide in him,
so that when he appears
we may have confidence
and not be put to shame by him
at his coming. - And when he comes,
he will prove the world wrong
about sin and righteousness and judgment. - I have told you this
so that in me you may be in peace.
In the world
you will endure suffering.
But take courage!
I have overcome the world. - Be joyful in your hope. Be patient in times of affliction. Persevere in prayer.
- When I fed them, they were satisfied;
when they were satisfied, they became proud of heart
and quickly forgot me. - On hearing this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. When Paul had laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke in tongues and prophesied.

How pathetic is the man who is alone and falls

- The blessing of the Lord is what brings wealth,
and our toil adds nothing to it. - For this reason, I rejoice when I endure weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and distress for the sake of Christ. For it is when I am weak that I am strong.

- But when you give alms, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing. Your almsgiving must be done in secret. And your Father who sees everything that is done in secret will reward you.
- When Jesus heard this, he said, “Do not be afraid. Just have faith, and she will be saved.”
- But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and then you will be my witnesses not only in Jerusalem, but throughout Judea and Samaria, and indeed to the farthest ends of the earth.

my body wasted away
as the result of my groaning throughout the day. - A man is joyful when he utters apt answers,
and even more satisfying is a word in season. - The Lord makes a man’s steps secure
when he approves of his conduct. - When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all assembled together in one place. Suddenly, there came from heaven a sound similar to that of a violent wind, and it filled the entire house in which they were sitting.
- When the Advocate comes
whom I will send you from the Father,
the Spirit of truth who comes from the Father,
he will testify on my behalf.
