But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father—the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father—he will testify about me.But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me.
You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
On hearing this, Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick.”When Jesus heard that, He said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.”
My soul yearns for you in the night; in the morning my spirit longs for you. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.
But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, that your charitable deed may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly.
But when they saw him walking on the lake, they thought he was a ghost. They cried out, because they all saw him and were terrified. Immediately he spoke to them and said, “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”And when they saw Him walking on the sea, they supposed it was a ghost, and cried out; for they all saw Him and were troubled. But immediately He talked with them and said to them, “Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid.”
When God raised up his servant, he sent him first to you to bless you by turning each of you from your wicked ways.To you first, God, having raised up His Servant Jesus, sent Him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from your iniquities.
You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise.
A thousand years in your sight are like a day that has just gone by, or like a watch in the night.For a thousand years in Your sight Are like yesterday when it is past, And like a watch in the night.
Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass.

But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, so that it will not be obvious to others that you are fasting, but only to your Father, who is unseen; and your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, so that you do not appear to men to be fasting, but to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.
As goods increase, so do those who consume them. And what benefit are they to the owners except to feast their eyes on them?When goods increase, They increase who eat them; So what profit have the owners Except to see them with their eyes?
After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight.Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight.
After Job had prayed for his friends, the Lord restored his fortunes and gave him twice as much as he had before.And the Lord restored Job’s losses when he prayed for his friends. Indeed the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.

When you fast, do not look somber as the hypocrites do, for they disfigure their faces to show others they are fasting. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full.Moreover, when you fast, do not be like the hypocrites, with a sad countenance. For they disfigure their faces that they may appear to men to be fasting. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward.
