For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit.Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit.
But he said, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it!”Jesus replied, “But even more blessed are all who hear the word of God and put it into practice.”
Who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works.He gave his life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us, and to make us his very own people, totally committed to doing good deeds.
The Lord redeems the life of his servants; none of those who take refuge in him will be condemned.But the Lord will redeem those who serve him. No one who takes refuge in him will be condemned.
Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!Taste and see that the Lord is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him!
For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God.

He who loves money will not be satisfied with money, nor he who loves wealth with his income; this also is vanity.Those who love money will never have enough. How meaningless to think that wealth brings true happiness!
Whoever goes about slandering reveals secrets, but he who is trustworthy in spirit keeps a thing covered.A gossip goes around telling secrets, but those who are trustworthy can keep a confidence.
No one has ever seen God; the only God, who is at the Father's side, he has made him known.No one has ever seen God. But the unique One, who is himself God, is near to the Father’s heart. He has revealed God to us.
But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.But when you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father in private. Then your Father, who sees everything, will reward you.
Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.Yes, and everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.
Whoever conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy.People who conceal their sins will not prosper, but if they confess and turn from them, they will receive mercy.
Who has performed and done this, calling the generations from the beginning? I, the Lord, the first, and with the last; I am he.Who has done such mighty deeds, summoning each new generation from the beginning of time? It is I, the Lord, the First and the Last. I alone am he.
For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified.For by that one offering he forever made perfect those who are being made holy.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.God blesses those who hunger and thirst for justice, for they will be satisfied.
Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but he who makes his ways crooked will be found out.People with integrity walk safely, but those who follow crooked paths will be exposed.
He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord.The man who finds a wife finds a treasure, and he receives favor from the Lord.
As for the rich in this present age, charge them not to be haughty, nor to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy.Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment.
He who walks blamelessly and does what is right and speaks truth in his heart; who does not slander with his tongue and does no evil to his neighbor, nor takes up a reproach against his friend.Those who lead blameless lives and do what is right, speaking the truth from sincere hearts. Those who refuse to gossip or harm their neighbors or speak evil of their friends.
