- Happy are those whose transgression is forgiven,
whose sin is covered. - Happy are those whose way is blameless,
who walk in the law of the Lord. - In God, whose word I praise,
in God I trust; I am not afraid;
what can flesh do to me? - Happy is the nation whose God is the Lord,
the people whom he has chosen as his heritage. - One who is slow to anger is better than the mighty,
and one whose temper is controlled than one who captures a city. - But you, O Bethlehem of Ephrathah,
who are one of the little clans of Judah,
from you shall come forth for me
one who is to rule in Israel,
whose origin is from of old,
from ancient days. - For thus says the high and lofty one
who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy:
I dwell in the high and holy place,
and also with those who are contrite and humble in spirit,
to revive the spirit of the humble,
and to revive the heart of the contrite. - Now if you are unwilling to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served in the region beyond the River or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living; but as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.
- Blessed are those who trust in the Lord,
whose trust is the Lord.
They shall be like a tree planted by water,
sending out its roots by the stream.
It shall not fear when heat comes,
and its leaves shall stay green;
in the year of drought it is not anxious,
and it does not cease to bear fruit.
Bear one another's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. You who live in the shelter of the Most High,
who abide in the shadow of the Almighty,
will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress;
my God, in whom I trust.”Next verse!With image
