- We have sinned, and have committed iniquity, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even by departing from thy precepts and from thy judgments.
- Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.
- And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment.
- He is the Rock, his work is perfect:
for all his ways are judgment:
a God of truth and without iniquity,
just and right is he. - Without counsel purposes are disappointed:
but in the multitude of counsellors they are established. - Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.
- See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.
- Wash you, make you clean;
put away the evil of your doings
from before mine eyes;
cease to do evil. - Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.
- Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations.
- All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
- Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man.
- Let the wicked forsake his way,
and the unrighteous man his thoughts:
and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him;
and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. - He that walketh uprightly,
and worketh righteousness,
and speaketh the truth in his heart.
He that backbiteth not with his tongue,
nor doeth evil to his neighbour,
nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour. - What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.
- Woe unto him that striveth with his Maker! Let the potsherd strive with the potsherds of the earth. Shall the clay say to him that fashioneth it, What makest thou? or thy work, He hath no hands?
- Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil.
- But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.
- And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.
- Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
- Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.
- But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
- Who hath wrought and done it,
calling the generations from the beginning?
I the Lord, the first,
and with the last; I am he. - Oh how great is thy goodness,
which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee;
which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee
before the sons of men! - Seek ye the Lord, all ye meek of the earth,
which have wrought his judgment;
seek righteousness, seek meekness:
it may be ye shall be hid
in the day of the Lord's anger.
And he declared unto you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, even ten commandments; and he wrote them upon two tables of stone.Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.
