Do not add to what I command you and do not subtract from it, but keep the commands of the Lord your God that I give you. | Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you. |
You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance. | Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah. |

You who are trying to be justified by the law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace. | Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace. |
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. | Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. |
I, even I, am he who comforts you. Who are you that you fear mere mortals, human beings who are but grass. | I, even I, am he that comforteth you: who art thou, that thou shouldest be afraid of a man that shall die, and of the son of man which shall be made as grass. |
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. | Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. |
But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. | Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. |
And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. | And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them. |
What is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them? | What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? |
My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. | This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. |
You know that I have not hesitated to preach anything that would be helpful to you but have taught you publicly and from house to house. | And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publicly, and from house to house. |
I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. | I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. |
If your brother or sister sins, go and point out their fault, just between the two of you. If they listen to you, you have won them over. | Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother. |
You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am. | Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am. |
But if from there you seek the Lord your God, you will find him if you seek him with all your heart and with all your soul. | But if from thence thou shalt seek the Lord thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul. |
Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you. | Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee. |
Surely, Lord, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favor as with a shield. | For thou, Lord, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield. |
Since you are precious and honored in my sight, and because I love you, I will give people in exchange for you, nations in exchange for your life. | Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee: therefore will I give men for thee, and people for thy life. |
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. | For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. |
I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. | These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. |
You are to be holy to me because I, the Lord, am holy, and I have set you apart from the nations to be my own. | And ye shall be holy unto me: for I the Lord am holy, and have severed you from other people, that ye should be mine. |
Everything that lives and moves about will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything. But you must not eat meat that has its lifeblood still in it. | Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things. But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat. |
By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another. | By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. |
How great you are, Sovereign Lord! There is no one like you, and there is no God but you, as we have heard with our own ears. | Wherefore thou art great, O Lord God: for there is none like thee, neither is there any God beside thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears. |
He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” | And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. |
