| See that no one repays anyone evil for evil, but always seek to do good to one another and to everyone. | See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men. |

| Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted. | Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. |
| Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing. | Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do. |

| Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. | Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time. Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person. | Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time. Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man. |
| And he said to them, “Take care, and be on your guard against all covetousness, for one's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.” | And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth. |
| Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor. | Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another. |
| Do not let your adorning be external—the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear— but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God's sight is very precious. | Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price. |
| And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. | And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. |
| By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples. | Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. |
| Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in you? | Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? |
| The end of all things is at hand; therefore be self-controlled and sober-minded for the sake of your prayers. | But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer. |
| But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires. | But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof. |
| Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. | Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour. |
| And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart.
