And (2/4)

  • And they said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.”
  • Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
  • You shall walk after the Lord your God and fear him and keep his commandments and obey his voice, and you shall serve him and hold fast to him.
  • The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.
  • The Lord makes poor and makes rich;
    he brings low and he exalts.
  • So we fasted and implored our God for this, and he listened to our entreaty.
  • And every day, in the temple and from house to house, they did not cease teaching and preaching that the Christ is Jesus.
  • For you are my rock and my fortress;
    and for your name's sake you lead me and guide me.
  • Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven.
  • And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules.
  • What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.
  • Trust in the Lord, and do good;
    dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness.
  • Then Job arose and tore his robe and shaved his head and fell on the ground and worshiped. And he said, “Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked shall I return. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.”
  • God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.
  • Then after fasting and praying they laid their hands on them and sent them off.
  • Search me, O God, and know my heart!
    Try me and know my thoughts!
    And see if there be any grievous way in me,
    and lead me in the way everlasting!
  • And to love him with all the heart and with all the understanding and with all the strength, and to love one's neighbor as oneself, is much more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.
  • Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.
  • Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
  • For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
  • Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
  • And he sat down and called the twelve. And he said to them, “If anyone would be first, he must be last of all and servant of all.”
  • In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
  • So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.
  • And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.

Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and honor the King of heaven, for all his works are right and his ways are just; and those who walk in pride he is able to humble.
