- For in him we live and move and exist. As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’

- Now, most people would not be willing to die for an upright person, though someone might perhaps be willing to die for a person who is especially good. But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.

- For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.

- The rich can pay a ransom for their lives,
but the poor won’t even get threatened. - Eloquent words are not fitting for a fool;
even less are lies fitting for a ruler. - Dear friend, I hope all is well with you and that you are as healthy in body as you are strong in spirit.
- One should be kind to a fainting friend,
but you accuse me without any fear of the Almighty.
