- Unless the Lord builds the house,
those who build it labor in vain.
Unless the Lord watches over the city,
the watchman stays awake in vain. - Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, for all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours. Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, and you are exalted as head above all.

He preserves the lives of his saints;

the righteous man runs into it and is safe. - The integrity of the upright guides them,
but the crookedness of the treacherous destroys them. - The Lord is slow to anger and great in power,
and the Lord will by no means clear the guilty.
His way is in whirlwind and storm,
and the clouds are the dust of his feet. - And the angel answered her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born will be called holy—the Son of God.”
- The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all. Amen.

And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
- For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do.
- Behold, blessed is the one whom God reproves;
therefore despise not the discipline of the Almighty. - This Jesus is the stone that was rejected by you, the builders, which has become the cornerstone.
- As you do not know the way the spirit comes to the bones in the womb of a woman with child, so you do not know the work of God who makes everything.
- But the one who endures to the end will be saved.
- The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge;
fools despise wisdom and instruction. - Looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
- The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.
- Then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment until the day of judgment.
