- Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord,
whose trust is the Lord.
He is like a tree planted by water,
that sends out its roots by the stream,
and does not fear when heat comes,
for its leaves remain green,
and is not anxious in the year of drought,
for it does not cease to bear fruit. - For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
- Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body and spirit, bringing holiness to completion in the fear of God.
- Though the fig tree should not blossom,
nor fruit be on the vines,
the produce of the olive fail
and the fields yield no food,
the flock be cut off from the fold
and there be no herd in the stalls,
yet I will rejoice in the Lord;
I will take joy in the God of my salvation. - Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in you?
- Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.
- If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.
- Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.”
- For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.
- There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call.
- For I know that through your prayers and the help of the Spirit of Jesus Christ this will turn out for my deliverance.
- And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules.
- A joyful heart is good medicine,
but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. - Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven people, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.
- Praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints.
- You shall be holy to me, for I the Lord am holy and have separated you from the peoples, that you should be mine.
- For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.
- Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
- Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord.
- When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, “It is finished,” and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.
- That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him.
- This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of hosts.
- Death and life are in the power of the tongue,
and those who love it will eat its fruits. - And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.
- Teach me to do your will,
for you are my God!
