- The name of the Lord is a strong tower;
The righteous runs into it and is safe. - The eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous,
And His ears are toward their cry for help. - But now faith, hope, and love remain, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
- Behold, happy is the person whom God disciplines,
So do not reject the discipline of the Almighty. - The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,
And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. - Arise, shine; for your light has come,
And the glory of the Lord has risen upon you. - But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not just hearers who deceive themselves.
- For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons and daughters by which we cry out, “Abba! Father!”
- Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
- The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable,
But the mouth of the wicked, what is perverted. - For the despairing man there should be kindness from his friend;
So that he does not abandon the fear of the Almighty. - Open your mouth, judge righteously,
And defend the rights of the poor and needy. - And above His head they put up the charge against Him which read, “THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS.”
- The way of the Lord is a stronghold for the upright,
But ruin to the workers of injustice. - He loves righteousness and justice;
The earth is full of the goodness of the Lord. - The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge;
Fools despise wisdom and instruction. - This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel, saying, ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the Lord of armies.
- The fear of the Lord is the instruction for wisdom,
And before honor comes humility. - For since by a man death came, by a Man also came the resurrection of the dead.
- The afflictions of the righteous are many,
But the Lord rescues him from them all. - Some praise their chariots and some their horses,
But we will praise the name of the Lord, our God. - And we are witnesses of these things; and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey Him.
- Then the Lord God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of Us, knowing good and evil; and now, he might reach out with his hand, and take fruit also from the tree of life, and eat, and live forever”— therefore the Lord God sent him out of the Garden of Eden, to cultivate the ground from which he was taken.
- Beyond question, great is the mystery of godliness:
He who was revealed in the flesh,
Was vindicated in the Spirit,
Seen by angels,
Proclaimed among the nations,
Believed on in the world,
Taken up in glory. - I am not asking You to take them out of the world, but to keep them away from the evil one.
