- The Lord is good,
a stronghold in a day of trouble;
he protects those who take refuge in him. - A cheerful heart is a good medicine,
but a downcast spirit dries up the bones. - He who finds a wife finds a good thing,
and obtains favor from the Lord. - For I am longing to see you so that I may share with you some spiritual gift to strengthen you— or rather so that we may be mutually encouraged by each other's faith, both yours and mine.
- Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil.
- For
“Those who desire life
and desire to see good days,
let them keep their tongues from evil
and their lips from speaking deceit;
let them turn away from evil and do good;
let them seek peace and pursue it.” - Looking to Jesus the pioneer and perfecter of our faith, who for the sake of the joy that was set before him endured the cross, disregarding its shame, and has taken his seat at the right hand of the throne of God.
- To make an apt answer is a joy to anyone,
and a word in season, how good it is! - Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due,
when it is in your power to do it. - For you, O Lord, are good and forgiving,
abounding in steadfast love to all who call on you. - But you, beloved, build yourselves up on your most holy faith; pray in the Holy Spirit; keep yourselves in the love of God; look forward to the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life.
- How much more valuable is a human being than a sheep! So it is lawful to do good on the sabbath.
- Then the Lord God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper as his partner.”
- For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of yourself more highly than you ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned.
- Seek good and not evil,
that you may live;
and so the Lord, the God of hosts, will be with you,
just as you have said. - How beautiful upon the mountains
are the feet of the messenger who announces peace,
who brings good news,
who announces salvation,
who says to Zion, “Your God reigns.” - A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches,
and favor is better than silver or gold. - But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for see—I am bringing you good news of great joy for all the people.”
- Jesus answered them, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only will you do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ it will be done.”
- And it is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
- Do not seek your own advantage, but that of the other.
- Teach me to do your will,
for you are my God.
Let your good spirit lead me
on a level path. - Anxiety weighs down the human heart,
but a good word cheers it up. - We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose.
- But now, apart from law, the righteousness of God has been disclosed, and is attested by the law and the prophets, the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction.
