- And the testimony is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.
- In that I am commanding you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in His ways and to keep His commandments, His statutes, and His judgments, so that you may live and become numerous, and that the Lord your God may bless you in the land where you are entering to take possession of it.
- And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.
- Guarding the paths of justice,
And He watches over the way of His godly ones. - But He knows the way I take;
When He has put me to the test, I will come out as gold.
My foot has held on to His path;
I have kept His way and not turned aside. - Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him,
On those who wait for His faithfulness. - For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it.
- By this we know that we remain in Him and He in us, because He has given to us of His Spirit.
- And He summoned the crowd together with His disciples, and said to them, “If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow Me.”
- The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom;
All those who follow His commandments have a good understanding;
His praise endures forever. - Just as a father has compassion on his children,
So the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him. - Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord,
The people He has chosen for His own inheritance. - And the Lord God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife, and clothed them.
- Praise the Lord!
Blessed is a person who fears the Lord,
Who greatly delights in His commandments. - The good person out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth what is good; and the evil person out of the evil treasure brings forth what is evil; for his mouth speaks from that which fills his heart.
- The Lord also restored the fortunes of Job when he prayed for his friends, and the Lord increased double all that Job had.
- Who will repay each person according to his deeds.
- If anyone thinks himself to be religious, yet does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this person’s religion is worthless.
- Know therefore that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God, who keeps His covenant and His faithfulness to a thousand generations for those who love Him and keep His commandments.
- The husband must fulfill his duty to his wife, and likewise the wife also to her husband. The wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does; and likewise the husband also does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does.
- You shall diligently keep the commandments of the Lord your God, and His provisions and His statutes which He has commanded you.
- A fool always loses his temper,
But a wise person holds it back. - And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
- For what good will it do a person if he gains the whole world, but forfeits his soul? Or what will a person give in exchange for his soul?
- And in Hades he raised his eyes, being in torment, and saw Abraham far away and Lazarus in his arms. And he cried out and said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me and send Lazarus, so that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool off my tongue, for I am in agony in this flame.’
