- While experiencing temptation, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, and he himself tempts no one.
- God said, “Let there be light!” And there was light.
- Jesus replied, “Did I not tell you that if you have faith you will see the glory of God?”
- No one has ever seen God.
It is the only Son, God,
who is at the Father’s side,
who has made him known. - Guide me in your truth and instruct me,
for you are God, my Savior,
and in you I hope all the day long. - I press on toward the finishing line to win the heavenly prize to which God has called me in Christ Jesus.
- Our God is in heaven;
he does whatever he pleases. - I take no pleasure in the death of anyone, says the Lord God. Repent and live!
- Persevere in prayer, with alert minds and thankful hearts.
- Keep in mind, therefore, that the Lord, your God, is God. He is a faithful God who keeps his covenant of mercy to the thousandth generation toward those who love him and observe his commandments.
- In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing among the angels of God over one sinner who repents.
- Jesus replied,
“Amen, amen, I say to you,
no one can see the kingdom of God
without being born from above.” - I do not set aside the grace of God, for if justification comes through the Law, then Christ died for nothing.
- What I commanded them was this: Listen to my voice, and I will be your God, and you will be my people. If you follow all the ways that I command you, then you will prosper.
- Those who live according to the flesh can never be pleasing to God.
- And the Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I wish to make another creature who will be like him.”
- Therefore say to them, “Thus says the Lord God: The fulfillment of my words will not be delayed any longer. What I have said will be done now. This is the word of the Lord God.”
- Hence, be imitators of God, as beloved children.
- Surely God is my helper;
the Lord is the one who sustains me. - And now it is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me. The life I live now in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave himself up for me.
- I write these things to you
who believe in the name of the Son of God
so that you may know
that you have eternal life. - However, God has revealed these things to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit explores everything, even the depths of God.
- For it is written,
“As I live, says the Lord,
every knee shall bow before me,
and every tongue shall give praise to God.” - To our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen.
- And so now, O Israel, what does the Lord, your God, require of you but to fear the Lord, your God, to walk in all of his ways, to love him, to serve the Lord, your God, with all your heart and all your soul, and to observe the commandments and the statutes that I am giving you today for your own good.
