- The light shines in the darkness,
and the darkness can never extinguish it. - Our God is in the heavens,
and he does as he wishes. - Take delight in the Lord,
and he will give you your heart’s desires. - That’s why those who are still under the control of their sinful nature can never please God.
- Yet I am confident I will see the Lord’s goodness
while I am here in the land of the living. - Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace.
- I have placed my rainbow in the clouds. It is the sign of my covenant with you and with all the earth.
- In the same way, there is joy in the presence of God’s angels when even one sinner repents.
- Our help is from the Lord,

Each morning I bring my requests to you and wait expectantly. - Glory to God in highest heaven,
and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased. - So be strong and courageous,

and lead you in straight paths. - So God created human beings in his own image.
In the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them. - Some nations boast of their chariots and horses,
but we boast in the name of the Lord our God. - You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, so that the Son can bring glory to the Father.
- They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, along with everyone in your household.”
- Rather, you must grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
All glory to him, both now and forever! Amen. - But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world.
- Deceit fills hearts that are plotting evil;
joy fills hearts that are planning peace! - Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me
all the days of my life,
and I will live in the house of the Lord
forever. - For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light!
- The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David!
- I have rejoiced in your laws
as much as in riches.
