John (4/4)

  • This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.
  • But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.
  • Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you.
  • This is the message we heard from Jesus and now declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all.
  • Then Jesus told him, “You believe because you have seen me. Blessed are those who believe without seeing me.”
  • When you obey my commandments, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father’s commandments and remain in his love.
  • On the last day, the climax of the festival, Jesus stood and shouted to the crowds, “Anyone who is thirsty may come to me!”
  • We know what real love is because Jesus gave up his life for us. So we also ought to give up our lives for our brothers and sisters.
  • There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?
  • I tell you the truth, slaves are not greater than their master. Nor is the messenger more important than the one who sends the message.
  • I tell you the truth, anyone who welcomes my messenger is welcoming me, and anyone who welcomes me is welcoming the Father who sent me.
  • God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him.
  • I have revealed you to them, and I will continue to do so. Then your love for me will be in them, and I will be in them.
  • Anyone who wants to serve me must follow me, because my servants must be where I am. And the Father will honor anyone who serves me.
  • Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.
  • Jesus replied, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again. Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.”
  • I have written this to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know you have eternal life.
  • For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
  • And now, dear children, remain in fellowship with Christ so that when he returns, you will be full of courage and not shrink back from him in shame.
  • But I will send you the Advocate—the Spirit of truth. He will come to you from the Father and will testify all about me.
  • We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love.
God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them.
  • But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world.
  • Jesus replied, “All who love me will do what I say. My Father will love them, and we will come and make our home with each of them.”
  • And anyone who believes in God’s Son has eternal life. Anyone who doesn’t obey the Son will never experience eternal life but remains under God’s angry judgment.
  • If someone has enough money to live well and sees a brother or sister in need but shows no compassion—how can God’s love be in that person?
