- But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.
- In you, Lord, I have taken refuge;
let me never be put to shame;
deliver me in your righteousness. - Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.
- May your unfailing love be with us, Lord,
even as we put our hope in you. - If your brother or sister sins, go and point out their fault, just between the two of you. If they listen to you, you have won them over.
- Be exalted, O God, above the heavens;
let your glory be over all the earth. - Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”
- But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its rays. And you will go out and frolic like well-fed calves.
- Sing to the Lord, for he has done glorious things;
let this be known to all the world. - Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.
- Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen:
to loose the chains of injustice
and untie the cords of the yoke,
to set the oppressed free
and break every yoke? - Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
- Who is wise? Let them realize these things.
Who is discerning? Let them understand.
The ways of the Lord are right;
the righteous walk in them,
but the rebellious stumble in them. - Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.
- Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.
- Be exalted, O God, above the heavens;
let your glory be over all the earth. - Let your face shine on your servant;
save me in your unfailing love. - Go back and tell Hezekiah, the ruler of my people, ‘This is what the Lord, the God of your father David, says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will heal you. On the third day from now you will go up to the temple of the Lord.’
- Out of the depths I cry to you, Lord;
Lord, hear my voice.
Let your ears be attentive
to my cry for mercy. - You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.
- Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.
- Jesus said, “Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’”
- On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink.”
- The Lord has done it this very day;
let us rejoice today and be glad. - He will not let your foot slip—
he who watches over you will not slumber.
Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world. The Lord is with you when you are with him. If you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you forsake him, he will forsake you.Next verse!With image
