- Be exalted, O God, above the heavens;
let your glory be over all the earth. - Direct my footsteps according to your word;
let no sin rule over me. - But let justice roll on like a river,
righteousness like a never-failing stream! - Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.
- If your brother or sister sins, go and point out their fault, just between the two of you. If they listen to you, you have won them over.
- In you, Lord, I have taken refuge;
let me never be put to shame;
deliver me in your righteousness. - Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”
- But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its rays. And you will go out and frolic like well-fed calves.

save me in your unfailing love. - Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.
- Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.
- Go back and tell Hezekiah, the ruler of my people, ‘This is what the Lord, the God of your father David, says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will heal you. On the third day from now you will go up to the temple of the Lord.’
- Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
- The Lord has done it this very day;
let us rejoice today and be glad. - May your unfailing love be with us, Lord,
even as we put our hope in you. - He will not let your foot slip—
he who watches over you will not slumber. - Sing to the Lord, for he has done glorious things;
let this be known to all the world. - Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen:
to loose the chains of injustice
and untie the cords of the yoke,
to set the oppressed free
and break every yoke? - You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.
- Jesus said, “Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’”
- Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.
- Who is wise? Let them realize these things.
Who is discerning? Let them understand.
The ways of the Lord are right;
the righteous walk in them,
but the rebellious stumble in them. - Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.
- Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.
