- Then Peter said, “Ananias, how is it that Satan has so filled your heart that you have lied to the Holy Spirit and have kept for yourself some of the money you received for the land? Didn’t it belong to you before it was sold? And after it was sold, wasn’t the money at your disposal? What made you think of doing such a thing? You have not lied just to human beings but to God.”

and receive favor from the Lord. - And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what they had done.

but a perverse tongue crushes the spirit. - Hope deferred makes the heart sick,
but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life. - For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.
- Day after day, in the temple courts and from house to house, they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Messiah.
- A person’s riches may ransom their life,
but the poor cannot respond to threatening rebukes. - For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his. For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin.
- Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?
- Then he called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.”

but whoever ignores correction leads others astray. - While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.”
- Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
- Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.
- Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.
