- For if you are trying to make yourselves right with God by keeping the law, you have been cut off from Christ! You have fallen away from God’s grace.
- He will give eternal life to those who keep on doing good, seeking after the glory and honor and immortality that God offers.
- And we know that the Son of God has come, and he has given us understanding so that we can know the true God. And now we live in fellowship with the true God because we live in fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ. He is the only true God, and he is eternal life.
- The tongue can bring death or life;
those who love to talk will reap the consequences. - That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing?

I will praise you as long as I live,
lifting up my hands to you in prayer. - So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace.
- I have written this to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know you have eternal life.
- For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
