| Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him. | Oh taste and see that Yahweh is good. Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him. |
| There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death. | There is a way which seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death. |
| And the Lord God said, “The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. | A person finds joy in giving an apt reply— and how good is a timely word! | Joy comes to a man with the reply of his mouth. How good is a word at the right time! |
| Praise the Lord. Blessed are those who fear the Lord, who find great delight in his commands. | Praise Yah! Blessed is the man who fears Yahweh, who delights greatly in his commandments. |
| He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the Lord. | Whoever finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor of Yahweh. |
| For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. | For who among men knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so, no one knows the things of God except God’s Spirit. |
| How much more valuable is a person than a sheep! Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath. | Of how much more value then is a man than a sheep! Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath day. |
| A person may think their own ways are right, but the Lord weighs the heart. | Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, but Yahweh weighs the hearts. |

| It is to one’s honor to avoid strife, but every fool is quick to quarrel. | It is an honor for a man to keep aloof from strife, but every fool will be quarreling. |
| Good will come to those who are generous and lend freely, who conduct their affairs with justice. | It is well with the man who deals graciously and lends. He will maintain his cause in judgment. |

| Blessed is the one whom God corrects; so do not despise the discipline of the Almighty. | Behold, happy is the man whom God corrects. Therefore do not despise the chastening of the Almighty. |
