- For God so loved the world
that he gave his only Son,
so that everyone who believes in him
may not perish
but may attain eternal life. - No one after lighting a lamp covers it with a pot or places it under a bed. Rather he places it on a lampstand so that those who enter may see the light.

my steadfast love will not depart from you,

- Therefore, put on the armor of God, so that you will be able to hold fast on the evil day and to hold your ground with all your strength.
- Let no one delude himself. If anyone among you considers himself to be wise by worldly standards, he must become a fool in order to be truly wise.
- There is only one thing I ask of the Lord,
just one thing I seek:
to dwell in the house of the Lord
all the days of my life,
so that I may enjoy the beauty of the Lord
and gaze on his temple. - Be on your guard that you do not lose what we have worked to accomplish so that you will receive your reward in full.
- All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for refutation, for correction, and for training in uprightness, so that the man of God may be proficient and equipped for good work of every kind.
- If you abide in me
and my words abide in you,
you may ask for whatever you wish,
and it will be done for you. - This is how you should pray:
‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name.
Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.’ - May I never boast of anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world is crucified to me and I to the world.
- “All things are lawful,” you may say—but not all things are beneficial. All things may be lawful—but not all things are constructive.
- I, the Lord, am your God. You must obey my laws and be careful to observe my ordinances. Keep holy my Sabbaths as a sign between me and you so that you will know that I am the Lord, your God.
- All I want is to come to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and to share in his sufferings by becoming conformed to his death.
- Stay awake and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit is indeed willing, but the flesh is weak.
- You did not choose me.
Rather, I chose you.
And I appointed you
to go out and bear fruit,
fruit that will remain,
so that the Father may give you
whatever you ask him in my name.
