Mercy (2/2)

  • “For the mountains may depart
    and the hills be removed,
    but my steadfast love shall not depart from you,
    and my covenant of peace shall not be removed,”
    says the Lord, who has compassion on you.
  • When I thought, “My foot slips,”
    your steadfast love, O Lord, held me up.
  • Let your steadfast love, O Lord, be upon us,
    even as we hope in you.
  • For your steadfast love is great to the heavens,
    your faithfulness to the clouds.
  • The Lord is merciful and gracious,
    slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
  • The wicked borrows but does not pay back,
    but the righteous is generous and gives.
  • Whoever pursues righteousness and kindness
    will find life, righteousness, and honor.
  • Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear him,
    on those who hope in his steadfast love.
  • And that to you, O Lord, belongs steadfast love.
    For you will render to a man
    according to his work.
  • Know therefore that the Lord your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations.
  • For you, O Lord, are good and forgiving,
    abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you.
  • Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name give glory,
    for the sake of your steadfast love and your faithfulness!
  • I will strengthen the house of Judah,
    and I will save the house of Joseph.
    I will bring them back because I have compassion on them,
    and they shall be as though I had not rejected them,
    for I am the Lord their God and I will answer them.
  • The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me;
    your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever.
    Do not forsake the work of your hands.
  • But the tax collector, standing far off, would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, a sinner!’
  • But I have trusted in your steadfast love;
    my heart shall rejoice in your salvation.
    I will sing to the Lord,
    because he has dealt bountifully with me.
  • But I will sing of your strength;
    I will sing aloud of your steadfast love in the morning.
    For you have been to me a fortress
    and a refuge in the day of my distress.
  • Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience.
  • The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;
    his mercies never come to an end;
    they are new every morning;
    great is your faithfulness.
  • I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.
  • Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you;
    bind them around your neck;
    write them on the tablet of your heart.
    So you will find favor and good success
    in the sight of God and man.
  • But the steadfast love of the Lord is
    from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear him,
    and his righteousness to children's children,
    to those who keep his covenant
    and remember to do his commandments.
  • Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

Bible verse of the day

Wake up from your drunken stupor, as is right, and do not go on sinning. For some have no knowledge of God. I say this to your shame.
