- O Lord, all my longing is known to you,
and my sighs are not hidden from you. - Even though the fig tree does not blossom
and there is no fruit on the vines,
even though the olive crop will fail
and the orchards will yield no food,
even though the flock is cut off from the fold
and there is no herd in the stalls,
I will continue to rejoice in the Lord,
and exult in the God of my salvation. - If you refrain from traveling on the Sabbath
and from engaging in your own interests on my holy day,
if you call the Sabbath a day of joy
and regard the Lord’s holy day as honorable,
if you honor it by not going your own way,
serving your own interests,
or attending to your own affairs;
then you will find true happiness in the Lord,
and I will enable you to ride
upon the heights of the earth.
I will nourish you with the heritage of your father Jacob,
for the mouth of the Lord has spoken. - If you keep my commandments,
you will remain in my love,
just as I have kept my Father’s commandments
and remain in his love. - I lifted up my voice in prayer to him;
his praise was on my tongue. - The Lord is my light and my salvation;
whom should I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life;
of whom should I be afraid? - Then I acknowledged my sin to you,
and I made no attempt to conceal my guilt.
I said, “I will confess my offenses to the Lord,”
and you removed the guilt of my sin. Selah - And a voice came from heaven, saying, “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”
- As long as I remained silent,
my body wasted away
as the result of my groaning throughout the day. - But as for me, I will look to the Lord.
I place my hope in God my savior;
my God will hear me. - By this is my Father glorified,
that you bear much fruit
and become my disciples. - For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
nor are your ways my ways, says the Lord. - You are truly my rock and my fortress;
for the sake of your name, lead and guide me. - The Lord is my portion, I say to myself;
therefore, I will place my hope in him. - Why are you so disheartened, O my soul?
Why do you sigh within me?
Place your hope in God;
for I will once again praise him,
my Savior and my God. - But you, O Lord, are a shield to protect me;
you are my glory and the one who raises my head high. - If you love me,
you will keep my commandments. - I stretch out my hands to you;
my soul thirsts for you like a parched land. Selah - Listen, my son, and take my words to heart,
and the years of your life will be multiplied. - Surely God is my helper;
the Lord is the one who sustains me. - I lift up my eyes to the mountains;
from where will I receive help?
My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth. - Bless the Lord, O my soul;
my entire being, bless his holy name. - Jesus then said to her, “Do not hold on to me, because I have not yet ascended to my Father. But go to my brethren and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’ ”
- Rejoice with all your heart, O daughter Zion.
Shout for joy, O daughter Jerusalem.
See, your king is coming to you,
triumphant and victorious,
humble and riding on a donkey,
on a colt, the foal of a donkey. - You who abide in the shelter of the Most High,
who rest in the shadow of the Almighty,
say to the Lord, “You are my refuge and my fortress,
my God in whom I place my trust.”
O God, you are my God,
for whom I have been searching earnestly.
My soul yearns for you
and my body thirsts for you,
like the earth when it is parched,
arid and without water.Rather, revere Christ as Lord in your hearts.
Always be prepared to offer an explanation to anyone who asks you to justify the hope that is in you. However, do so with gentleness and respect. For so has the Lord commanded us to do, saying,
‘I have made you a light for the Gentiles
so that you may bring salvation
to the farthest corners of the earth.’Next verse!With image
