- O Lord, all my longing is known to you,
and my sighs are not hidden from you. - I lifted up my voice in prayer to him;
his praise was on my tongue. - Then I acknowledged my sin to you,
and I made no attempt to conceal my guilt.
I said, “I will confess my offenses to the Lord,”
and you removed the guilt of my sin. Selah - The Lord is my light and my salvation;
whom should I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life;
of whom should I be afraid? - If you keep my commandments,
you will remain in my love,
just as I have kept my Father’s commandments
and remain in his love. - As long as I remained silent,
my body wasted away
as the result of my groaning throughout the day. - And a voice came from heaven, saying, “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”
- The Lord is my portion, I say to myself;
therefore, I will place my hope in him. - By this is my Father glorified,
that you bear much fruit
and become my disciples. - For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
nor are your ways my ways, says the Lord. - Even though the fig tree does not blossom
and there is no fruit on the vines,
even though the olive crop will fail
and the orchards will yield no food,
even though the flock is cut off from the fold
and there is no herd in the stalls,
I will continue to rejoice in the Lord,
and exult in the God of my salvation. - But as for me, I will look to the Lord.
I place my hope in God my savior;
my God will hear me. - If you refrain from traveling on the Sabbath
and from engaging in your own interests on my holy day,
if you call the Sabbath a day of joy
and regard the Lord’s holy day as honorable,
if you honor it by not going your own way,
serving your own interests,
or attending to your own affairs;
then you will find true happiness in the Lord,
and I will enable you to ride
upon the heights of the earth.
I will nourish you with the heritage of your father Jacob,
for the mouth of the Lord has spoken. - You are truly my rock and my fortress;
for the sake of your name, lead and guide me. - But you, O Lord, are a shield to protect me;
you are my glory and the one who raises my head high. - Surely God is my helper;
the Lord is the one who sustains me. - Why are you so disheartened, O my soul?
Why do you sigh within me?
Place your hope in God;
for I will once again praise him,
my Savior and my God. - I stretch out my hands to you;
my soul thirsts for you like a parched land. Selah - Listen, my son, and take my words to heart,
and the years of your life will be multiplied. - If you love me,
you will keep my commandments. - I lift up my eyes to the mountains;
from where will I receive help?
My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth. - O God, you are my God,
for whom I have been searching earnestly.
My soul yearns for you
and my body thirsts for you,
like the earth when it is parched,
arid and without water. - You who abide in the shelter of the Most High,
who rest in the shadow of the Almighty,
say to the Lord, “You are my refuge and my fortress,
my God in whom I place my trust.” - Jesus then said to her, “Do not hold on to me, because I have not yet ascended to my Father. But go to my brethren and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’ ”
- Jesus answered them,
“My teaching is not my own;
rather, it comes from him who sent me.”
The Lord God is my strength;
he makes my feet as swift as those of a deer
and enables me to tread on the heights.The love of the Lord is never exhausted,
nor do his deeds of mercy ever come to an end.
They are renewed every morning;
his faithfulness never ceases.
