Peace and understanding (4/4) Humility is the fear of the Lord ; To our God and Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen. So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.” You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am. Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know. About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in them. We have sinned and done wrong. We have been wicked and have rebelled; we have turned away from your commands and laws. The Lord God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them. When he comes, he will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment. Wealth and honor come from you; God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.” Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. Let us examine our ways and test them,ord . And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me. Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture. Trust in the Lord and do good; So we fasted and petitioned our God about this, and he answered our prayer. The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. The Lord sends poverty and wealth; For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.
