- It is better to trust in the Lord
Than to put confidence in man. - In God (I will praise His word),
In God I have put my trust;
I will not fear.
What can flesh do to me? - Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
- But He said, “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.”
- For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
- A man’s gift makes room for him,
And brings him before great men. - Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.
- Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them.
- For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse.
- Awake to righteousness, and do not sin; for some do not have the knowledge of God. I speak this to your shame.
- You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.
- Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.
- Now He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath. And behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bent over and could in no way raise herself up. But when Jesus saw her, He called her to Him and said to her, “Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity.” And He laid His hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.
But the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath; and he said to the crowd, “There are six days on which men ought to work; therefore come and be healed on them, and not on the Sabbath day.”
The Lord then answered him and said, “Hypocrite! Does not each one of you on the Sabbath loose his ox or donkey from the stall, and lead it away to water it? So ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound—think of it—for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath?” And when He said these things, all His adversaries were put to shame; and all the multitude rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by Him. - Who is a God like You,
Pardoning iniquity
And passing over the transgression
of the remnant of His heritage?
He does not retain His anger forever,
Because He delights in mercy. - And in that day you will say:
“Praise the Lord, call upon His name;
Declare His deeds among the peoples,
Make mention that His name is exalted.” - A highway shall be there, and a road,
And it shall be called the Highway of Holiness.
The unclean shall not pass over it,
But it shall be for others.
Whoever walks the road, although a fool,
Shall not go astray. - For prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.
- Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand.
- The integrity of the upright will guide them,
But the perversity of the unfaithful will destroy them. - Then He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, He blessed and broke them, and gave them to the disciples to set before the multitude. So they all ate and were filled, and twelve baskets of the leftover fragments were taken up by them.
- If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.
- Behold, how good and how pleasant it is
For brethren to dwell together in unity! - Let not mercy and truth forsake you;
Bind them around your neck,
Write them on the tablet of your heart,
And so find favor and high esteem
In the sight of God and man. - See that no one renders evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good both for yourselves and for all.
- Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord,
But those who deal truthfully are His delight.
