- Wealth gained hastily will dwindle,
but whoever gathers little by little will increase it. - A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches,
and favor is better than silver or gold. - And rend your hearts and not your garments.
Return to the Lord your God,
for he is gracious and merciful,
slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love;
and he relents over disaster. - Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him, and all tribes of the earth will wail on account of him. Even so. Amen.
- I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
I will counsel you with my eye upon you. - For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.
- Hatred stirs up strife,
but love covers all offenses. - And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.

For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error. And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done.
- Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.
- He was still speaking when, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to him.”

- Whoever covers an offense seeks love,

your steadfast love and your faithfulness will ever preserve me! - And Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit in the wilderness for forty days, being tempted by the devil. And he ate nothing during those days. And when they were ended, he was hungry.
- I ate no delicacies, no meat or wine entered my mouth, nor did I anoint myself at all, for the full three weeks.
- O you who love the Lord, hate evil!
He preserves the lives of his saints;
he delivers them from the hand of the wicked. - He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?
- One person esteems one day as better than another, while another esteems all days alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind.
