- To you, O God of my ancestors,
I give thanks and praise,
for you have given me wisdom and power,
and have now revealed to me what we asked of you,
for you have revealed to us what the king ordered. - We must always give thanks to God for you, brothers and sisters, as is right, because your faith is growing abundantly, and the love of everyone of you for one another is increasing.
- I will praise you with an upright heart,
when I learn your righteous ordinances. - I will give thanks to you, O Lord, among the peoples,
and I will sing praises to you among the nations. - But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

in him my heart trusts;
so I am helped, and my heart exults,
and with my song I give thanks to him. - Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Deliverance belongs to the Lord! - Blessed are you when people revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account.
- Blessed are you when people hate you, and when they exclude you, revile you, and defame you on account of the Son of Man.
- But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.
- But I say to you that listen, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you.
- I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another.
- If the world hates you, be aware that it hated me before it hated you.
