Chinese (traditional)- Praise the Lord!
How joyful are those who fear the Lord
and delight in obeying his commands. - How beautiful on the mountains
are the feet of the messenger who brings good news,
the good news of peace and salvation,
the news that the God of Israel reigns! - I tell you the truth, anyone who welcomes my messenger is welcoming me, and anyone who welcomes me is welcoming the Father who sent me.
- Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock.
- And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.
- God blesses those who mourn,
for they will be comforted. - Joyful are those who obey his laws
and search for him with all their hearts. - But the Lord will redeem those who serve him.
No one who takes refuge in him will be condemned. - For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.
- But the one who endures to the end will be saved.
- Be still in the presence of the Lord,
and wait patiently for him to act.
Don’t worry about evil people who prosper
or fret about their wicked schemes. - The message of the cross is foolish to those who are headed for destruction! But we who are being saved know it is the very power of God.
- Those who control their tongue will have a long life;
opening your mouth can ruin everything. - Don’t be afraid of those who want to kill your body; they cannot touch your soul. Fear only God, who can destroy both soul and body in hell.
- But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you!
- Good comes to those who lend money generously
and conduct their business fairly. - Then he said to them, “Anyone who welcomes a little child like this on my behalf welcomes me, and anyone who welcomes me also welcomes my Father who sent me. Whoever is the least among you is the greatest.”
- My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
- But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world.
- That’s why those who are still under the control of their sinful nature can never please God.
- But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.
- Bless those who persecute you. Don’t curse them; pray that God will bless them.
- Give to anyone who asks; and when things are taken away from you, don’t try to get them back.
- John replied, “If you have two shirts, give one to the poor. If you have food, share it with those who are hungry.”
- We are witnesses of these things and so is the Holy Spirit, who is given by God to those who obey him.
And he has given us this command: Those who love God must also love their fellow believers. On the day of Pentecost all the believers were meeting together in one place. Suddenly, there was a sound from heaven like the roaring of a mighty windstorm, and it filled the house where they were sitting.
