- For God so loved the world
that he gave his only Son,
so that everyone who believes in him
may not perish
but may attain eternal life. - How great is your goodness, O Lord,
which you have stored up for those who fear you
and which you bestow on those who take refuge in you,
in the presence of all the people. - He is himself the sacrifice for our sins—
and not only for our sins
but also for the sins of the whole world. - The earth is the Lord’s and everything in it,
the world and all who live in it. - So today acknowledge it and take it to heart that the Lord is God in the heavens above and on the earth below. There is no other.
- I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven. Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
- Dear children,
you are from God
and you have conquered them,
for the one who is in you is greater
than the one who is in the world. - In other words, God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, and not holding people’s transgressions against them, and he committed to us the message of reconciliation.
- Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace but a sword.
- For God did not send his Son into the world
to condemn the world
but in order that the world might be saved through him. - Because of this, God greatly exalted him
and bestowed on him the name
that is above all other names,
so that at the name of Jesus
every knee should bend
of those in heaven and on earth and under the earth. - Now, if you will obey my voice and keep my covenant, you will be my own possession from among all the peoples, for the entire earth is mine.
- God’s love was revealed to us in this way:
God sent his only-begotten Son into the world
so that we might have life through him. - I came from the Father
and have come into the world.
Now I am leaving the world
and returning to the Father. - This is how you should pray:
‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name.
Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.’ - I will give thanks to you among the peoples, O Lord;
I will sing your praises among the nations. - Amen, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not a single letter, not even a tiny portion of a letter, will disappear from the Law until all things have been accomplished.
- Without any doubt, the mystery of our religion is great:
He was made visible in the flesh,
vindicated by the Spirit,
seen by angels,
proclaimed to the Gentiles,
believed in throughout the world,
taken up in glory. - Be exalted, O God, above the heavens;
let your glory shine over all the earth. - May I never boast of anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world is crucified to me and I to the world.
- God blessed them and told them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth; subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the seas and over the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves upon the earth.”
- I am the living bread that came down from heaven.
Whoever eats this bread will live forever;
and the bread that I will give
is my flesh, for the life of the world. - Sing praise to the Lord for his mighty deeds;
let this be known throughout the entire world. - But what I tell you is this: Do not swear at all, either by heaven, since it is God’s throne, or by earth, since that is his footstool, or by Jerusalem, since that is the city of the great King.
