Chinese (traditional)Keep in mind, therefore, that the Lord, your God, is God. He is a faithful God who keeps his covenant of mercy to the thousandth generation toward those who love him and observe his commandments. I, I alone, am the one who comforts you.
Why then do you fear mortal men who must die,
human beings who must perish like grass? The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. You shall not kill. You shall not commit adultery. You shall not steal. You shall not bear false witness. Honor your father and your mother. Love your neighbor as yourself. Your word is a lamp for my feet
and a light to my path. For the Lord, your God, is gracious and compassionate, and he will not turn his face away from you if you return to him. Jesus answered them,
“I am the bread of life.
Whoever comes to me will never be hungry,
and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.” Do not pride yourself on your own wisdom;
fear the Lord and turn your back on evil.
This will provide healing for your flesh
and restore strength to your body. As long as the goodwill is present, the gift will be acceptable according to what one has, not according to what one does not have. But who am I, and what are your people,
that we should be able to do this?
All things belong to you,
and everything that we have given you is from your hand. Preferable is the little that the righteous possess
than the great wealth of the wicked.
For the power of the wicked will be overcome,
but the Lord protects the righteous. Do not succumb to the love of money, but be content with what you have, for God has said, “I will never forsake you or abandon you.” Gaze upon the birds in the sky. They do not sow or reap or store in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of far greater value than they? The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge;
fools are those who despise wisdom and instruction. Since in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor lack of circumcision is worth anything. All that matters is faith expressing itself through love. And let the peace of Christ reign in your hearts, because it was for this that you were called together in one body. Always be thankful. For the Lord loves the just,
and he will not forsake his faithful ones.
Those who follow evil paths will be destroyed,
and the children of the wicked will be cut off. Oh, that they would have fear of me in their hearts and they would observe all of my commandments always. Then things would go well with them and their children forever. Out of the same mouth flow blessings and curses. This should not be so, my brethren. Speak out and pronounce righteous judgments;
defend the rights of the wretched and the poor. Jesus replied, “Blessed, rather, are those who hear the word of God and obey it!” I can do all things in him who strengthens me. During the day the Lord grants his kindness,
and at night his praise is with me,
a prayer to the living God. I want their hearts to be encouraged and united in love so that they may grow rich in their complete understanding as they come to the knowledge of the mystery of God, that is, Christ. Thus there are three things that endure: faith, hope, and love,
and the greatest of these is love. In much the same manner
will wisdom be sweet to your soul.
If you find it, you will have a future,
and your hope will not be cut off. For we walk by faith, not by sight. Peace I leave with you,
my peace I give to you.
Not as the world gives
do I give it to you.
Do not let your hearts be troubled;
be not afraid. The Lord watches over the stranger
and sustains the fatherless and the widow,
but he blocks the way of the wicked. Beloved,
since God loved us so much,
we should love one another. Therefore, encourage one another and strengthen one another, as indeed you are doing. He did not spare his own Son but gave him up for all of us. How then can he fail also to give us everything else along with him? No one who conceals his transgressions will prosper,
but one who confesses and renounces them will obtain mercy.Next verse!With image
