- Thou art all fair, my love;
there is no spot in thee. - Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.
- Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain:
but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised. - Arise, shine; for thy light is come,
and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee. - For thou hast possessed my reins:
thou hast covered me in my mother's womb.
I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made:
marvellous are thy works;
and that my soul knoweth right well. - But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart.
- For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.
- In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.
- The grass withereth, the flower fadeth:
but the word of our God shall stand for ever. - For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
- Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
- So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
