Bible Verses about the Comforter
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all consolation, who consoles us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to console those who are in any affliction with the consolation with which we ourselves are consoled by God. | Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. |
I will not leave you orphaned; I am coming to you. | I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you. |
When the cares of my heart are many, your consolations cheer my soul. | In the multitude of my anxieties within me, Your comforts delight my soul. |
But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything, and remind you of all that I have said to you. | But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. |
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. | Blessed are those who mourn, For they shall be comforted. |
Nevertheless I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. | Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. |
And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, to be with you forever. | And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever. |
Out of my distress I called on the Lord; the Lord answered me and set me in a broad place. | I called on the Lord in distress; The Lord answered me and set me in a broad place. |
I, I am he who comforts you; why then are you afraid of a mere mortal who must die, a human being who fades like grass? | I, even I, am He who comforts you. Who are you that you should be afraid Of a man who will die, And of the son of a man who will be made like grass? |
They will hunger no more, and thirst no more; the sun will not strike them, nor any scorching heat; for the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd, and he will guide them to springs of the water of life, and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes. | They shall neither hunger anymore nor thirst anymore; the sun shall not strike them, nor any heat; for the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to living fountains of waters. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes. |
For just as the sufferings of Christ are abundant for us, so also our consolation is abundant through Christ. | For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds through Christ. |
When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who comes from the Father, he will testify on my behalf. | But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me. |
May the God of steadfastness and encouragement grant you to live in harmony with one another, in accordance with Christ Jesus. | Now may the God of patience and comfort grant you to be like-minded toward one another, according to Christ Jesus. |
