- But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.
- With my soul have I desired thee in the night;
yea, with my spirit within me will I seek thee early:
for when thy judgments are in the earth,
the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness. - Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
- Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
- The memory of the just is blessed:
but the name of the wicked shall rot. - I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.
- Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness.
- Riches profit not in the day of wrath:
but righteousness delivereth from death. - Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.
- I have taught thee in the way of wisdom;
I have led thee in right paths. - Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
- Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him:
but the just shall live by his faith. - The tongue of the just is as choice silver:
the heart of the wicked is little worth. - Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost.
- But he knoweth the way that I take:
when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.
My foot hath held his steps,
his way have I kept, and not declined. - The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again:
but the righteous sheweth mercy, and giveth. - Let thine eyes look right on,
and let thine eyelids look straight before thee. - I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
- Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honour the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and his ways judgment: and those that walk in pride he is able to abase.
- He keepeth the paths of judgment,
and preserveth the way of his saints. - For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord God: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye.
- Yea, in the way of thy judgments,
O Lord, have we waited for thee;
the desire of our soul is to thy name,
and to the remembrance of thee. - There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another?
- Let the wicked forsake his way,
and the unrighteous man his thoughts:
and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him;
and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. - The Lord openeth the eyes of the blind:
the Lord raiseth them that are bowed down:
the Lord loveth the righteous.
The hope of the righteous shall be gladness:
but the expectation of the wicked shall perish.But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth.Next verse!With image
